Update Secret

Updating secrets allows you to rotate credentials for security or replace expired tokens.

Update Process

• Click Change Secret Value in the row’s action menu.
• The Secret Name field is locked to avoid accidental renames.
• Enter the new value and click Update Secret.

Important Notes

• Name Protection: Secret names cannot be changed during updates to prevent confusion
• Value Replacement: The old value is completely replaced with the new one
• Immediate Effect: Changes take effect immediately for new pipeline runs
• No History: Previous values are not retained (versioning planned for Q4 2025)

Best Practices

• Regular Rotation: Update secrets periodically as part of security maintenance
• Test After Update: Verify that pipelines using the updated secret still function correctly
• Coordinate Changes: Inform team members when rotating shared secrets
